Youth Development

The Youth Development Program is a free after-school and summer program provided at the Bauer Community Center. This program is open to youth grades 1-12 and promotes achieving social and educational goals by providing constructive activities and building leadership skills. By focusing on the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets and Developmental Relationship Framework, the Youth Development program builds on positive experiences that are essential to raising successful youth. This includes fostering a growth mindset, building on youth’s sparks, creating relationships with young people, helping them realize their possible selves and developing a mental toughness to defer gratification in order to achieve their goals.

Various activities include homework assistance, recreation and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) programs. A snack and dinner are provided after school and lunch is provided in the summer months.
