Early Head Start Teacher

Full-time position working with children ages 6 wks. - 2 yrs. old. 

These teachers have the privilege of working with 8 infants and/or toddlers along with their co-teacher. Every classroom has 2 teaching staff along with a floating program aide. These classrooms are currently in Lafayette only. 

At Bauer, we know how important relationships are, so we practice continuity of care as much as we are able to. Not only does this support the development of the child because they retain the same teaching staff, but it also is the best way to bond with the families to facilitate strong relationships to support their growth and goals.

Home-Based Case Worker

Full-TIME POSITION WORKING WITH CHILDREN AGES 6 WKS. - 2 YRS. OLD. 

These case workers have the privilege of working with up to 11 families from pregnancy to the child's 3rd birthday. Home-based Case Workers teach in the home assisting families with their child's education and goals.  These positions are currently in Lafayette only.

They also plan monthly group activities that encourage social interactions for the children and their families.

Head Start Teacher

Full-time position working with children ages 3 yrs. - 5yrs old. 


These teachers have the privilege of working with up to 19 children ages 3 yrs. - 5 yrs. old. Every classroom has a full-time Teacher's Assistant and a floating Program Aide. Open positions in Lafayette and Frankfort.  

Our school year follows local school calendars including a Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Break.

We utilize Creative Curriculum from Teaching Strategies along with the social-emotional curriculum from Conscious Discipline. Teaching staff have full access to these resources for their classrooms. We value the Reggio Emilia Approach and provide furniture and supplies to enable teachers to create inviting and engaging environments. Lesson plan time is scheduled into each week.

Our support staff for our teaching staff include a Mentor Coach, an intervention team, and a Mental Health Consultant. We close classrooms monthly to either participate in a Staff Wellness Day or a Professional Development Day. Family Support Worker

Full-time position available working with families

These individuals have the privilege of working one-one-one with our families and teaching staff. Our Family Support Workers set goals with families, provide resources, and help facilitate successful school experiences. We have openings in Lafayette and Delphi.

These staff also work with community resources to serve families and are a vital part of our program. Their work bridges the gap from home and school and the community, and their impact is tangible and life-changing to our families. 

Tuition for a Family Development Credential is included for these staff within 18 months of hire to support and enhance their job duties.

Food Service Worker

Part-time or Full-time position

Our Food Service Staff are our MOST loved staff! Our kiddos are delighted when they deliver their food and usually cheer at their entrance!

Most of our kitchens serve between 18-56 students daily. It is a special opportunity to create nutritious meals to feed our students over 2/3rds of their daily food. Our food service workers prepare breakfast, lunch, snacks and to-go meals for 1 yr. old's - 5 year old's based off of CACFP (Child & Adult Care Food Program) and local licensing guidelines. 

All of Food Service Staff also become ServSafe Trained along with receiving monthly professional development.

Our Aides are the special ones who are reading books and offering cuddles while the teaching staff are leading activities.

Case Manager

Full-time position working with families 

Bauer Case Managers provide a wide array of support services to families involved with the Department of Child Services. They offer family visit supervision, case management, and fatherhood engagement opportunities. 

All of our Case Managers help families set and attain goals, access community resources, and learn skills to promote safety and security for children who are at risk.

Youth Worker

Part-time position working with children ages 6 yrs. - 18 yrs. old

Youth Workers spend 3-4 hrs. each day building memorable relationships with youth in grades K-7th. They offer homework help, plan and implement Creative Expression, STEAM and Recreational Activities.

These staff have a love for supporting, motivating, and empathizing with every youth they meet, and their impact our on our students can be life-changing. They provide a safe place for trust, creativity, and overall growth for each youth.

Scheduling is flexible. Staff can work daily or a couple days a week. Part Time Staff can work up to 29 hours per week.
